Stonk Tower is a game built around a token. This page says plainly what can go wrong, once each. It takes about two minutes, and it is part of the Terms of Use.

1. The price of $TOWER can fall
$TOWER trades on open markets that we do not run. Its price follows supply and demand, and it can fall a long way, even to zero. Nobody, us included, supports its price or promises that you can sell it when you want to.
2. A chip is a token, not a currency
Every chip corresponds to one $TOWER that the treasury holds for you, and the Cashier returns the same number, less the network's cost. That is a count of tokens. What those tokens are worth in dollars, or in anything else, moves with the market.
3. Earnings are never guaranteed
Yield, wages, dividends, contract pay and race pots follow published rules and real activity. Tower yield comes only from the trading fees of $TOWER: fewer trades, less yield. Dividends come from what players spend in the city. Any of them can shrink or stop, and yield you do not collect in time expires.
4. Rules and numbers can change
The game is tuned as it grows. When a notice period is set, a change to what the city takes or pays is published on the City Treasury page before it takes effect. While the game is being tested the period can be zero, and a change then applies at once. Safety switches, such as pausing a feature during an exploit, always act at once.
5. Software can fail
The game is software in active development. A bug, or an attack on the game, its servers or the treasury's wallets, could cause errors or losses. When something cannot be read safely the game pauses rather than guesses, and a wrong ledger entry can be corrected.
6. The network and outside services can fail
The game depends on Solana, on wallet, RPC, price and swap providers, on the launchpad and the markets $TOWER trades on, and on hosting. Any of them can be slow, wrong or down. Transactions on Solana are final: one you approved cannot be undone.
7. Outages delay things
An outage can delay or interrupt play, collecting yield, a race, a casino round or a cash-out. Anything that depends on you being in the game at a certain time can be missed while it is down.
8. Cash-outs depend on availability
Cash-outs can be switched off by the game. They pause if the city's books cannot be read or show fewer tokens than chips owed, they are closed in some countries, and a large one can wait for the Cashier's wallet to be refilled before it is paid in full.
9. Your wallet is yours to protect
We never hold your keys, and we will never ask for your recovery phrase. If you lose your keys, approve a bad transaction, or are tricked by a fake site or a fake support account, we cannot get your tokens back.
10. The in-game casino is chance
The in-game casino is played in chips, for entertainment. Its games are games of chance and the house has an edge, so over time players lose more than they win. Wins are credited by each game's published rules; limits follow the house's bank, and a game can be paused. Play for fun, with chips you can afford to lose, and set a loss limit or take a break whenever you want one.
11. In-game shares and floors are game items
In-game share prices move with players' trading and can fall, and dividends can be nothing. Floors that carry real company names follow those companies' price moves by a game formula. They are not shares in those companies, and those companies have nothing to do with the game.
12. Test periods end
While the game runs on a test token, chips and everything counted in them do not carry over to the launch token.
13. The law differs, and can change
Tokens, games of chance and games like this one are treated differently around the world, and the rules are changing. A change in the law, or in how it is applied, could limit or close the game, or parts of it, where you are. Whether you may play, and your own taxes, are yours to check.
14. None of this is advice
Nothing in the game is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. If any of this is unclear, wait until it is clear before you put anything in.
