The Stonk Exchange
Buying and selling
Every company trades on its own price curve. Buy and the price climbs a little; sell and it slips back. There is no order book and no house on the other side of your trade: just players, and the curve between them.

The price curve
Buying pushes it up, selling brings it down
Each company has a fixed number of shares (100,000) sitting on one price curve. Every share you buy is taken off it, and the next one costs a little more. Drag:
The listing price is drawn as 100. Out of 100,000 shares, a fifth are held by players here. The bigger the order, the further it moves the price, so the average sits between the two.

Done at that price, or not at all: if the price moved past your slippage, the trade is refused, never re-priced.

Your position
What your shares show
Your Portfolio tab lists every company you hold, and each company's page shows your position on it.
Your shares also count toward your tower. They count at what selling them now would pay, after the fee (the sell value in your Portfolio), so buying hardly moves your tower and selling leaves it where it was.
Some shares wait before they sell. Shares paid by a ContractX contract, and shares bought with locked chips, can't be sold for 24 hours (24 hours for the second kind). The Portfolio shows how many are locked and when they free up. They still count for your tower, dividends and votes.
“Counts today” is what today's dividend will pay on if you keep those shares until midnight UTC. Shares bought today count from tomorrow.
